The Soviet Superwoman, or Olga Yezhov, was born in the rural USSR on an alternate earth where she worked as a farmhand in the years prior to World War II. It’s a pretty wild storyline and the artwork that goes along with it is killer. Starting on the second row we have a work from Jose Ivan Negron AKA Bad Attitude Ink, a cartoonist currently living in Brooklyn, N.Y. He draws and illustrates with a really bold and powerful graphic style, lots to enjoy at his gallery. One of the most celebrated comic book artists of our time, R Crumb is known for his artistic obsession of strong wholesome girls with muscular legs and asses built like a ’54 Buick Roadmaster. A big boned girl of statuesque height is his ideal woman, not at all skinny, but also never close to fat. I was stoked to come across a few pieces of art he had done for one of his illustration books featuring some muscle girls, so I tossed them into a small gallery along with a few other artworks in the same vein for your viewing pleasure.

Like deviantArt, Renderosity is another excellent place to explore for muscle girl art. It’s an online art community and marketplace for digital artists, with special emphasis on computer-generated 3D graphics, 2D graphics, photography and animation. I tossed together a gallery of some of the examples of muscle girls I was able to find there, and I must say 3D art is really starting to come on now in detail and expression.

Amazon Empire was a graphic book that came out about in 2005 from Gallery Girls Collection that showcased some of the better artist of the sword and fantasy muscle girl genre. The byline: Weaker sex? Wishful thinking! This book portrays a pantheon of powerful female warriors, as illustrated by an international collection of artists. It also features art by Michael Bair, Glenn Barr, Jim Callahan, Jose Casanovas, DeMiguel, Jackson Guice, J.L. Marin, Esteban Maroto, Kevin Rasel, Sanjulian, Jeff Watts, and many others.
